Hi, I’m Mikaela — the hands (and heart!) behind Purrfect Claws & Paws.
My journey into cat grooming began at home, caring for my own beloved cats. I started grooming them regularly to help manage their fur and quickly saw the difference it made — not only in preventing knots and matting, but also in supporting their overall skin health and comfort.
At first, I avoided clipping their nails, unsure and a bit nervous like many pet parents. But after one of my girls developed a painful issue where her nail grew into her paw pad, I knew I had to learn. That experience sparked a deeper commitment to understanding feline grooming, behaviour, and health needs.
Over time, grooming turned from a necessity into a true passion — and now, I’m proud to offer those same gentle, knowledgeable grooming services to other cat families in the community.
I treat every cat that comes through my door as if they were my own: with patience, care, and respect. Whether your kitty is a social butterfly or a little shy, I’m here to make grooming a positive, stress-free experience for both of you.

Every cat I’ve cared for has shaped my love and understanding of grooming in a unique way. They’ve taught me patience, compassion, and just how different every feline personality can be. Here’s a little peek into the lives of the cats who started it all.
Queen B
The original queen of the house and the one who started the “Crazy Cat” journey. Queen B originally belonged to my husband and grew up alongside her older brother in the old family home. When we moved out on our own, I wanted to find her a companion for company while we were at work. Little did we know… we’d end up bringing home two cats for the price of one!
Sir Puss
All looks, no thoughts and we love him for it. Sir Puss is the classic gentle giant. He always follows us everywhere and loves to just sit quietly at our feet. Despite his size, he’s a big baby who craves affection. He’s had a few teeth removed, so when he starts purring, he tends to dribble a little, but that just adds to his charm.
Prudence
My long-haired cuddle bug. Prudence has always been incredibly affectionate and would spend all day in your lap if she could. She adores being petted and has even learned to perch on my husband's shoulders, often turning into a very patient and very furry scarf while he sits at the table.
Alina
Alina, the wise elder of our family, turns 11 this year. She’s our sweet, fluffy little lady, full of love and quiet sass. With her tiny legs and round belly, she doesn’t exactly run. It’s more of a bunny hop that never fails to make us smile.Whether she’s sunbathing or asking for treats with her signature stare, Alina fills our home with warmth, charm, and personality.
Snowball
My first boy, and the cat who started my deep love for feline companionship. Snowball was my very first cat, and he quickly won over not just me, but my whole family. He had a special energy about him, playful, loving, and calm. We lost Snowball at the age of 14, peacefully curled up in his favourite spot, surrounded by the other cats that came into our lives. Rest in peace, my sweet boy. You’ll always be with us.
